Major Accident/Fatality 10430 Haven – Update

 On 9/13/2011 at 8:03 a.m., police received a call for a major accident involving a fatality in the 10400 Blk. of Haven (near Tuloso Midway H.S.). When Officers arrived, they learned that a female driving eastbound on Haven lost control of her 2002 Green Chevy Trailblazer; drove left of center into the westbound lane of Haven and left the roadway.

Upon doing so, she struck a fire hydrant. The vehicle continued eastbound on the sidewalk striking and killing a male pedestrian, Johnny Joe Ramos (28 yoa), who was jogging. The vehicle then continued and struck a light post, where the vehicle then came to a stop.

The driver of the Trailblazer, Yolanda Joseph (49 yoa), was pinned inside of her vehicle due to the damage caused by the impact. She was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Fatality investigators continue to gather evidence in an attempt to recreate the accident scene.

 The driver of the Trailblazer was pinned inside of her vehicle due to the damage caused by the impact. She was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

 At this time, investigators have not been able to confirm the identity of the male jogger.
