Offense: Solicitation Prostitution, Improper Relationship between Educator & Student, and Sexual Assault of a Minor

On February 17, 2023 at 1:09 pm the Corpus Christi Police Department was notified of an investigation being conducted by school administrators in the 4000 block of Wildcat in Corpus Christi reference to a substitute teacher having an inappropriate relationship with a student off campus.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Robbery Homicide section quickly began to investigate the incident, interview victims, and school administrators. The detectives determined that a crime had been committed and secured a warrant of arrest for 22-year-old Anthony Schultz.

Anthony Schultz was placed into custody and booked into the City Detention Center on the charges of Solicitation of Prostitution $200,000.00 bond, Improper Relationship between Educator & Student $200,000.00 bond, and Sexual Assault of a Minor $200,000.00 bond.

Senior Officer Marcus Garanzuay is originally from San Antonio and began his career with the Corpus Christi Police Department in 2006 as part of the 65th Police Academy Session.

After graduating the Police Academy Marcus served in the Uniform Division as a patrolman. In 2014 he was selected to become a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Division as part of the Financial Crimes Section. In 2015 after only serving a year in Financial Crimes Marcus was selected to focus on white collar crimes which include embezzlement, elder financial exploitation, and public corruption.

Senior Officer Garanzuay has earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts, has numerous certifications from the National White Collar Crime Center, Texas Forensics Associates, National Computer Forensics Institute and is a certified Intoxilyzer operator.

Marcus has earned his Master Peace Officer certification, was given a Letter of Commendation in 2012 and received the top tier fitness award in 2021.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT MISSING PERSON ALERTS?

Missing person alerts are used to get information out to the public in hope of receiving tips and then leads to the recovery of a person in danger.  
There are currently six different types of alerts, and each categorize a different type of missing or abducted individual.

AMBER Alert
Notifies the public when a child has been abducted and is believed to be in danger of sexual assault, bodily injury, or death.

Silver Alert
Notifies the public of a missing older adult with a documented mental condition.

Blue Alert
Notifies the public of a wanted violent criminal who has killed or seriously wounded a local, state, or federal law enforcement officer.

Endangered Missing Persons Alert
Notifies the public of a missing person (of any age) with an intellectual disability.

Camo Alert
Notifies the public of a missing current or former member of the United States armed forces, including the National Guard or a reserve or auxiliary unit of any branch of the armed forces who is struggling with mental illness.

CLEAR
Notifies the public of missing, kidnapped, or abducted adult or adults who are in immediate danger of injury or death.

practice physical assessment test

You are invited to attend the Corpus Christi Police Department Practice Physical Assessment Test (PAT) on Saturday, February 4, 2023, for the upcoming CCPD 83rd Police Academy which is projected to begin July 2023.

The practice test will take place at the Main Police Station located at 321 John Sartain, Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Applicants will meet us at the gated entrance directly across from Whataburger on the Bay (Water Street side of the building).

Check in time will be between 7:00 am – 7:30 am, so we can start promptly at 8:00 am. During the practice test, instructors will explain and demonstrate each phase of the physical fitness test. Officers will also be available to answer any questions you have about any phase of the testing and hiring process. Applicants who successfully complete the course will receive a PAT waiver that will be valid for up to 30 days. That means you will only need to pass the written examination on your scheduled test date.

Please report to the test site in physical fitness attire and have your state-issued identification card or driver’s license with you.

Missing Child

The vehicle has been located and had been sold to another person. The vehicle is no longer linked to the missing child.

It is unknown what type of vehicle they may be traveling in.

The United States Marshal Service is requesting assistance in locating a high risk missing child.

On December 15, 2022, a Nueces County Judge granted custody of eight-year-old Edwin Buskirk II to his biological Father. On December 16, 2022, the biological mother Rebecca Buskirk (AKA Rebecca Raj) failed to return the child and a warrant of arrest was issued for Interfering with Child Custody.

Rebecca is a 37-year-old white female, 5’4”, 140 lbs., brown eyes, with dark colored hair that may have some grey.  She is believed to be in a dark colored Chevy Silverado truck displaying handicapped Texas license plate 8TCTX or HTN8102

Edwin Buskirk II is special needs diagnosed tier level 3 nonverbal autism and special controlled medication is needed daily.

Robbery Suspect

On Wednesday December 28, 2022, at 12:31 pm officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of South Staples in reference to a robbery.

When the officers arrived, they found that an adult male had entered the financial institution and demanded money from the teller. The teller gave an undisclosed amount of money to the male offender who then fled on foot and got into a silver SUV.

The offender is described as a White male in his 60’s, grey hair, approximately 5’7” and walks with a cane.
