Homicide – 200 Blk. S. Tancahua

Early this morning officers were called to the 200 block of S. Tancahua after witnesses heard unusual noises coming from the residence. When they arrived they located an 88-year-old woman bleeding from what appeared to be stab wounds; she was not responsive but had a pulse. Medics transported her to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers at the scene were informed that a light complected male subject, either Hispanic or White, was seen running from the apartment shortly before the victim was located. Witnesses described the individual as clean-shaven with a shaved head, 5′ 8″ to 5′ 10″ in height, 150-170 lbs.

While investigators were still at the crime scene they learned that the victim had succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Aggravated Robbery Suspect

Investigators with the Robbery/Homicide Unit are asking for your help in identifying the individual responsible for an Aggravated Robbery at the Sears Department store.

In this incident the unidentified individual is seen via in store surveillance put on a pair boots and then walk out of the store without paying for them.

When store personal attempted to question the individual about the incident he struck the employee with a closed fist and threatened to shoot them.

He then fled on foot west bound and got into a light-colored vehicle and fled west bound on the access road.

The individual is described as a hispanic male with a thin build around 5′ 9″ in height. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a white beanie, blue vest over a black long sleeve t-shirt with white crosses on the sleeves, dark jeans.

Need Your Help Identifying Theft Suspect

Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit need your help in identifying the individual responsible for stealing property  from an elderly victim.

The unidentified subject has befriended the victim by doing minimal chores around the residence during which he has been stealing from her.

The unidentified subject is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male in his thirties, he appears to be around 5′ 7″ to 5′ 9″ in height.

Theft of a Wallet

Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit are asking for your help in identifying the individual responsible for the theft of a wallet from a local H.E.B.

The wallet was left on the counter by its owner who forgot to retrieve it when she was done paying for her groceries. The wallet contained several credit cards, the owners drivers license and some cash.

The subject is described as a short heavy-set hispanic female with short dark hair in her forties, at the time of the theft she was wearing a multi-colored blouse.

Did you Take My Drugs?

Units were dispatched to an assault in progress with a gun. When they arrived they contacted the complainant, who told officer that his neighbor Jonathan Trevino 9-26-88, had come to his apartment and confronted him with a knife and a handgun visibly tucked into his waistband. At one point Jonathan threatens to kill him.

Jonathan was accusing the complainant of having stolen his drugs. The victim never exited his apartment and watched Jonathan walk back towards his apartment. When officers went to Jonathan’s apartment to talk to him Belia Alvarado 3-30-1962, answered the door, Belia is Jonathan’s mother. She told officers that they needed to leave the property because they were not going to be allowed into the apartment.

After several request by the officers to Belia to allow them into the apartment to check on the status of Jonathan and his well-being and Belia refusing. She was arrested for Interfering with the Duties of a Peace Officer, along with her son Jonathan who was charged with Aggravated assault, both were transported  to the City Detention Center.

Major Traffic Accident – Motorcycle

Units responded to a major traffic accident at 15200 Park Road 22 on Saturday shortly before noon. When they arrived they learned that a 16-year old female driver was attempting to exit a private drive. As traffic on Park Road 22 was stopped for a red light the 16-year old driver made her way across three lanes of traffic in between vehicles and proceeded into the fourth lane, at which time she did not notice that a motorcyclist was traveling east bound in that lane. The motorcyclist struck the side of the 16-year old drivers vehicle and was transported to Bay Area Hospital with critical injuries.

The female driver was citied for Failing to Yield the Right of Way from a Private Drive.

 

False Report to Police Officer Lands Man in Jail

Officers were dispatched to 2530 Dewberry for the third time in as many days for an assault not in progress. When they arrived they contacted the complaint, Isaiah Aguilar (2-23-1992),who told them that he had been assaulted by another man. Upon gathering the facts officers determined that  Aguilar was making up the assault story against the individual in an attempt to have him falsely arrested. Officers instead arrested Aguilar  for False Report to a Peace Officer, a class B misdemeanor.

DWI

While on patrol a patrolman observed a white Toyota 4 Runner swerve into oncoming traffic as it was in the 800 blk. of Navigation. The officer contucted a traffic stop on the vehicle were he contacted the driver Garrett Johnston 3-3-63. Upon talking to the driver he noticed him to be intoxicated.

Garrett was arrested and transported to the City Detention Center were he was booked for DWI.

Corpus Christi Auto Theft Task Force 2011 Holiday Sucess

Corpus Christi Auto Theft Task Force reports a decrease in auto theft and auto burglaries for the holiday season.

The Corpus Christi Auto Theft Task Force reports a reduction in this year’s holiday season.  For the time period between Black Friday and Christmas day, a time when citizens are out shopping the most, auto thefts were down 29% and auto burglaries down 21% when compared to the same time last year.  The Auto Theft Task Force has been visiting with the community at various different outlets to promote auto theft and auto burglary awareness.  “We believe the citizens of Corpus Christi are becoming aware of the problems we have been experiencing with the auto thieves in our area.  Citizens are taking a proactive approach to protect their belongings” said Kelly Isaacks, Lieutenant over the Auto Theft Task Force, “We hope that citizens continue on this trend to help fight these auto crimes”.

Theft, Flour Bluff Wal-Mart

Investigators with the Robbery/Homicide Division are asking for the your assistance in identifying the individual responsible for a Theft at Wal-mart located at 1250 Flour Bluff Dr.

The unidentified individual entered the store and pretended to do some shopping, all the while concealing several items in his clothing. He then proceeded to exit the store without paying for any of the items.

Store personal then asked the individual to re-enter the store in order to discuss the issue of the concealed items. At which time, the subject began to forcibly push store personal in an attempt to make his get-away.

The subject is described as a White male in his mid forties to mid fifties, 6’1″ to 6’2″ in height, 250 to 270 lbs., wearing a camouflage jacket, sunglasses, a khaki shirt and grey pant.

He fled the area in a newer model Ford F150 truck west bound on Highway 358.
