At approximately 11:27 pm officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Persimmon Street, in reference to a shooting in progress. Upon arrival, officers located several shooting victims on scene along with a 20-year-old female who had succumbed to her injuries.
Responding officers administered life savings measures on scene until medic units arrived, at which point a total of 4 additional victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information revealed that several occupants arrived by vehicle at the residence on Persimmon, where a disturbance ensued. The situation escalated and firearms were discharged by both parties. We do want to clarify that this was not a random act of violence, and the parties were known to each other.
Homicide Investigators have been actively investigating this incident, all suspects have been identified and there no suspects or parties outstanding. Investigators are still actively conducting interviews; updates will be provided as they are made available for release.
