After recent allegations of grant fraud, we want to remind our citizens to be cautious when applying for any financial assistance.
-Check with the Better Business Bureau for any complaints.
-Do a Google search on the business.
-If it sounds too good to be true, then it most likely is.
-Monitor your bank accounts for any fraudulent activity.
-Do not give out your personal information or your financial information to unknown individuals.
If you believe that you are the victim of fraud involving a grant it is important to file a report with the Corpus Christi Police Department. You can file a report by calling either 911 or the non-emergency number at 361-886-2600. In addition to filing a fraud report with the Corpus Christi Police Department you may file a report with the Federal Trade Commission https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/.
