NO SHAVE NOVEMBER UPDATE

For the month of November, the department implemented a “No Shave November” campaign to support cancer awareness, while raising money for cancer organizations.

Officers were able to grow beards once they made a donation to the Corpus Christi Police Officers’ Association. The Association graciously collected the donations which totaled $6,688.50. Members of the Corpus Christi Police Officers’ Association Board have since collectively agreed to donate the funds to First Friday Breast Cancer Awareness Program, Brooke’s Blossoming Hope for Childhood Cancer Foundation and Triumph Over Kid Cancer, respectively.

We want to thank our officers for their generous donations and also thank the Corpus Christi Police Officers’ Association for assisting us in our efforts.

In light of all the dashing good looks inspired by “No Shave November”, Chief Markle found it fitting to extend the allowance of facial hair to include beards and goatees, into permanent policy.
