AUTO THEFT SUSPECT ARRESTED

On May 05, 2021, Detectives with the Corpus Christi Police Department Auto Theft Task Force worked alongside patrol officers to try and track down subjects that have been stealing and burglarizing vehicles.

At approximately 1:00 pm on May 05, 2021, Detectives spotted a stolen vehicle on the 2000 block of Buford, the vehicle had been taken during the commission of a robbery on April 28, 2021.  Detectives were able to identify that the male driving the vehicle was a suspect that has been connected to a string of auto burglaries.  Officers attempted to contact the subject, who attempted to flee from officers on foot.

A short time later officers with our Enduro Unit were able to take the 14-year-old male into custody.  The juvenile was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest.   The juvenile was later transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for processing.
