Following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local City and County Health Officials; the Corpus Christi Police Department is taking precautionary measures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
After 11:59 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020, there will be changes to police response methods. We are currently working on operational alternatives to ensure that we are accessible and able to deliver the necessary services to our community, all the while ensuring that we prevent the spread of COVID-19.
For non-emergency calls or not in progress calls, contact the Corpus Christi Police Department non-emergency number at (361) 886-2600. To reduce contact in the field, calls that are of a report in nature will be directed to the Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU). The citizen will speak to an officer who will write the report via telephone and a case number will be given for the incident. We have augmented the current TRU staff with officers to assist our community in documenting each incident.
Walk in service at the main station will be discontinued until further notice. This includes getting copies of reports, finger printing, and any other service as a walk in. The public is asked not to go to the Police Department unless directed by an officer. You will still be able to retrieve a copy of a police offense report via internet through our Central Records Department. You may submit an electronic request for your report by email to ccpdopenrecords@cctexas.com. For any questions related to offense reports, please call (361) 886-2704.
