Corpus Christi Police officers were dispatched to the area of 6100 Pebble Beach in reference to a burglary in progress. Information on the call advised that several witnesses were following the suspects as they were fleeing the scene. An officer arrived and detained one of the suspects who had jewelry and a black hoodie in his possession. Officers were checking the area for the other two male suspects. An officer was flagged down in the area of 4700 Wooldridge by a citizen who advised that she saw a subject run into a back yard. Officers checked the area and located a male suspect, wearing a light blue collared shirt and blue jeans, who appeared to be out of breath on Shea Pkwy near Killarmet. Information was put out that a suspect wearing a grey shirt and dark blue basketball shorts was walking near Everhart and Holly. Officers found the suspect matching the description walking quickly and sweating profusely. All three suspects were detained and transported back to the scene.
Officers contacted the victim of the burglary in the area of 6100 Pebble Beach. The victim advised that she was shocked to find the door to her residence kicked in and her house burglarized. All three suspects were positively identified by witnesses. Officers were also advised that the suspect wearing the light blue collared shirt and jeans threw a gun over a fence on Champions. A handgun was later discovered in a pool in the area of 4600 Champions. Officers arrested Adrian Camacho (4-1-2001), Damon Leija (5-30-2001) and a 16 year old male suspect. Adrian and Damon were transported to the City Detention Center and the juvenile male was transported to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center.
This was an excellent example of the community and CCPD working together to catch these three suspects.
