Patrol Report September 14, 2017

Offense: Burglary of a Habitation

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 400 Troy Drive in reference to a suspicious person wearing a pink shirt and no shoes. Upon arrival officers observed the 31 year old female suspect (wearing a pink shirt and no shoes) at the residence and the front door to be open. Officers made contact with the suspect and discovered that she had a key to the residence. The officers also noticed that a key lockbox had been forced open and the bottom half was by her feet. The suspect was detained and the owner of the residence contacted. The owner advised that he did not know the suspect and she had no permission to be there. The owner also advised that someone had moved things around in the house. Officers arrested Tanisha Perez (05-14-1986) and transported her to the City Detention Center.

Location: Everhart Road and Williams Drive
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated with a Child, Poss. of Dangerous Drugs

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Everhart Rd. and Williams Dr. for a pedestrian in the roadway. The call advised that a female stopped her car in the middle of the road and was trying to flag down passing motorists. Officers arrived and contacted the 49 year old female standing out side her car. The female was excited, speaking with slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and had an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. The female ran out of gas and was trying to get help. While officers were investigating they observed a 2 year old female and a 4 year old male in the backseat. The children were not in car seats and were not wearing seatbelts. Officers located the children’s mother. The mother stated that she was a passenger in the car and had gone into a store to get juice when the female driver drove off with her children. Officers arrested Belinda Johnson (10-26-1967) for DWI with a child. During the location officers found the suspect to have pills and synthetic cannabinoids. Belinda was transported to the City Detention Center. The children were released to their mother.

Location: 5700 Leopard
Offense: Burglary

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area 5700 Leopard (Dollar General Store) in reference to a burglary alarm. Upon arrival officers observed the front sliding glass door to be broken and a large rock outside the door. Officers checked the building but located no one inside. As officers were checking around the building they located a witness. He stated he was asleep when the audible alarm woke him up. The witness stated he observed a light colored full sized SUV leaving the business turning on Leopard. The information was put out over the radio. An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle matching the description in the area of Leopard and Lantana. The officer contacted and identified the occupants of the vehicle. They were released a short time later.

The store manager arrived and reviewed the security footage. The video showed the suspect entering the store and going behind the cash register. The suspect tries and fails to open the locked cigarette case. The suspect then goes to the beauty isle and grabs between 12-15 bottles of shampoo and leaves the store. The officer that stopped the SUV reviewed the footage and was able to verify that suspect was in the vehicle he stopped earlier. The vehicle and suspect information was put out over the radio.  At approximately 3:24 AM officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of 25th and Buford. Officers contacted, identified and arrested Sedric Luckerson (11-29-1978). Officers located shampoo in the SUV as well as pieces of broken glass in the floorboard of the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and Sedric was transported to the City Detention Center.
