The United States Marshal’s Gulf Coast Fugitives and Violent Offenders Task Force captured 28-year-old Michael Ramon (3/8/1988) in Houston, Texas today.
Michael Ramon was a fugitive featured on the Crime Stoppers Wheel of Shame and was identified as the driver who fled the fatal crash on the Crosstown Expressway on September 10th. Many people made tips to Crime Stoppers, but it was the work of the United States Marshal’s Gulf Coast Fugitives and Violent Offenders Task Force which tracked down Ramon in Houston.
Ramon made threats to law enforcement that he would shoot out with Police rather than be apprehended, but the Marshal’s Task Force caught up with Ramon in Houston, and apprehended Ramon without any deadly force applied. The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force provided images of the firearm that Ramon had in his possession in a bag. Ramon is safely in the custody of law enforcement and will be processed for return to Nueces County.
Corpus Christi Police thank everyone who provided information to help locate Ramon and for facilitating his safe apprehension.
