Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detectives worked the case non-stop, exhausting all leads.

Over the last year and seven months Detectives have continued to investigate the case. Any and all tips were thoroughly investigated.  Crime Stoppers spots were used to try and generate more leads. Although new information was becoming scarce, detectives continued to examine the case.

Today the Corpus Christi Police Department is announcing that they have arrested 2 individuals in connection with the murder of Alex Torres.

David Lee Davila (01/02/89) and Christina Trevino (4/04/92) were both arrested in the 3400 block of Bluebonnet drive at about 6pm this evening.

In the last two days, Detectives received information concerning the incident. Detectives aggressively followed up on that information and contacted several individuals and were able to obtain enough information to acquire warrants for both Davila and Trevino.

Detectives believe that David planned a shooting in retaliation for being reported to Child Protective Services and Detectives believe Christina drove David to the area of Treyway where David shot at the wrong apartment, striking and killing Alex Torres.

Coordinating with the District Attorney’s Office, warrants for murder with $500,00 bonds were acquired for both.

They were arrested about 6pm this evening without incident.
