Shooting on 2900 Easley

UPDATE:

Detectives informed us that CDC Jail Booking Jesus Ruben Balli Garcia was booked into CDC late Sunday evening on the warrant for Aggravated Assault. 

UPDATE: 

At approximately 7:00 pm our office was notified that a man fitting the description of Jesus Ruben Balli Garcia (10/28/88) was being detained by Border Patrol agents. Agents informed us that the man had become lost in the brush near the Sarita Checkpoint and called 911 for help. The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) officers were able to locate him. At approximately 10:00 pm USBP officers confirmed to our office that the person they had detained was Jesus Garcia.  He was arrested on the Aggravated Assault warrant and taken to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives continue to work with the USBP and the Kenedy Co. Sheriff’s office regarding the case.  

 

UPDATE:

The Medical Examiner advised our office that the male victim, involved in the shooting, succumbed to his injuries at approximately 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

The ME’s office will release name.

UPDATE:

The suspect, Jesus Ruben Balli Garcia (10/28/88), was not located on Friday evening. A warrant, for Aggravated Assault, has been issued.

No updates were given to our office regarding the two victims.

Overall, assistance was obtained from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office and the US Border Patrol office. We thank them for their help during this pursuit and subsequent search.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shooting in the area of 2900 Easley. Officers arrived and observed the suspect leaving the scene in a vehicle and followed it. Another officer located two shooting victims. Officers provided medical assistance until medics arrived. A female in her 20’s and a male possibly in his 30’s were transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital. The male is listed in critical condition and the female is in stable condition. Investigators believe that this is a case of family violence.

Corpus Christi Police Officers along with other agencies pursued the suspect vehicle South of Armstrong Texas. The suspect ran from his vehicle into the nearby brush. At the time of this post officers were actively searching for the suspect.
