Corpus Christi Police were called to Driscoll Children’s Hospital for an abuse of a child call. Police arrived to find a two-month-old baby had been brought in by the mother for a welfare check. The baby was found to be suffering from bleeding to the brain and admitted to the hospital.
The mother told Police she left the child with the father while she went to work. Further investigation by both the Police Department’s Child Protection Unit and the Texas Child Protective Services revealed the baby’s father was the suspect. Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the baby’s father Jimmie Lacour (10/13/91).
Lacour was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant for Injury to a Child. He was booked at the City Detention Center with a bond set at $150,000.
